HP INC (HPQ)
SEC filings, insider trading & institutional ownership from EDGAR.
HP is a global technology company that operates in more than 170 countries and provides devices, services and subscriptions for personal computing, printing, 3D printing, hybrid work, gaming and related technologies. Its portfolio includes AI PCs and workstations built for local AI processing, intelligent print features, and security capabilities such as security enhanced PCs and printers, hardware-enforced endpoint security software for both HP and non-HP PCs, and endpoint security services.
HP has three reportable segments: Personal Systems, Printing and Corporate Investments. Personal Systems offers desktops, notebooks, workstations, thin clients, retail point-of-sale systems, displays, hybrid systems, software, endpoint security solutions and lifecycle services. It is divided into Commercial PS (Pro and Elite PCs, Z workstations, Dragonfly and Chromebook PCs) and Consumer PS (Omni, Omen, Victus, Spectre, Envy and Pavilion lines). Its platforms use Microsoft Windows and Google Chrome operating systems, with processors from Intel and AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. Printing provides consumer and commercial printer hardware, supplies, services and solutions across Office Printing, Home Printing, Graphics Solutions (large-format, commercial and industrial printers and presses) and 3D Printing & Personalization. For reporting, it is grouped into Commercial Printing, Consumer Printing and Supplies, which covers ink and laser cartridges, media and industrial graphics and 3D printing supplies. Corporate Investments includes business incubation projects and investments in digital enablement.
HP serves consumers, small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises, public sector and education customers, as well as print service providers and packaging converters. Its customers are organized into consumer and commercial groups. Products are sold directly by HP or through retailers, resellers, distribution partners, and system integrators, and most revenue comes through channel resellers. Large enterprise accounts typically get an assigned account manager supported by product and services specialists. Sales show some seasonality, with consumer sales often stronger in the fourth calendar quarter and European sales often weaker in summer.
HP uses outsourced manufacturers worldwide to build HP-designed products, and also makes finished products from components and sub-assemblies from many vendors, using build-to-order and configure-to-order approaches. Some components come from a single source or limited sources. Personal Systems competes with Acer, Apple, ASUSTeK, Dell, Huawei, Lenovo, Logitech, Microsoft, Samsung and Toshiba, as well as local and white box makers. Printing competes with Brother, Canon, Pantum, Epson, Ricoh and Xerox, and with independent suppliers of non-original supplies. HP held over 16,000 patents as of October 31, 2025, and had approximately 55,000 employees. Its Form 10-K investor website is investor.hp.com.
